EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MARYLAND SCHOOLS
On October 20, 2019, the Maryland Legislative Coalition conducted an informative and interactive forum on school funding in Maryland in Elkridge MD. featuring Dr. Brit Kirwan and Delegate Eric Luedkte.
Dr. Brit Kirwan, chair of the Commission on Innovation and Excellence in Education (the Kirwan Commission), former Chancellor Emeritus of the University System of Maryland, former President of the University of Maryland and former President of Ohio State University, and Delegate Eric Luedtke, former middle school teacher, Democratic Majority Leader in the House of Delegates and chair of the Subcommittee on Education in the Ways and Means Committe in the House, talk about the plan to transform Maryland schools and how the funding battle is shaping up followed by a Question and Answer session.
The video of that forum is proved below in three sections, so each section can be viewed separately.
- Brit Kirwan speaking about the state of our schools and the recommendations of the Commission
- Delegate Eric Luedtke speaking about funding options and how the Legislature is likely to deal with the recommendations of the Commission
- A question and answer period with the audience
You are invited to view these videos and share them widely. This is a crucial time in Maryland, where we either decide to invest in our schools and our children’s future, or give it away. Join the Maryland Legislative Coalition to make sure that Maryland’s future is bright!
